League Play is coming to Call of Duty: Cold War next week

In a new planned update, the developers behind Call of Duty: Cold War have announced that League Play is coming to the game. Treyarch has since confirmed the news on Twitter.

League Play is a ranked playlist that has made its debut all the way back in ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops II’ which has since been absent from the games, or at least in the same form it used to exist in. Fans have asked Treyarch to bring League Play back ever since the launch of Cold War but the developer always said it wasn’t a priority. With the Call of Duty League starting they already announced they’d be implementing it, but now we know we can expect the playlist on February 8.

Treyarch talked more about the launch on the playlist on the blog featured on their website. “Built on the foundations of Black Ops 4’s popular ladder system, Black Ops Cold War’s League Play will offer even more Ranks for competitive fans to climb during intense League Play Events.” It seems like Treyarch is heavily linking League Play to the Call of Duty League scene, also advising fans to watch the opening matches of the CDL on February 11, with the Atlanta FaZe Home Series up first.

With the release of League Play, veteran Call of Duty fans finally see their prayers answered. They’ll also be able to play on one of the most iconic Black Ops II maps as Express is added to the game.
