League of Legends patch 11.8 brings us Gwen and some niche jungle buffs

As League of Legends brings patch 11.8 to the servers, we’ll finally be able to pick Gwen in our games.

Aside from bringing Gwen to the live servers, a lot of top priority champions (and Yorick) received nerfs. Annie received an updated mana cost on her W, Gnar’s bonus movement speed on his W got reduced, Orianna’s E now has less armor and magic resist, Thresh’s Flay was targeted and Yorick received a nerf across the board to his damage. You can find the full numbers in the patch notes.

On the buff side of things we see mages such as Cassiopeia and Leblanc, who have been weaker in the current meta. With Rammus, Zac and of course Lee Sin some underpowered junglers were also slightly tuned up. We might also start seeing some unlikely junglers in our games soon, as champions such as Darius, Diana, Mordekaiser and Zed were given more competitive and safe clears. Finally, Aphelios got a buff to his lethality and Vladimir sees a reduced cooldown on his Q as he levels up.

The items once again look towards enchanters, who for now only really had Moonstone Renewer to look towards. To combat this Staff of Flowing water and Shurelya’s Battlesong got tweaked. “we’re adjusting the following items to be picked up based on the situation at hand: Moonstone for more heals and shields, and Shurelya’s for more nimble feet and aggressive plays. We don’t want to overload the game with movement speed, so we’re also pivoting Staff of Flowing Water to focus from fast zooms to AP booms.”
