As the Summer Split of the LCK is rapidly approaching, news got out that the league will go back to offline play with (some) audience present.
According to Ashley Kang (Korizon) the LCK will be held at the League of Legend Park in Seoul (South Korea), where fans will also be welcomed again, albeit in a slightly different way. Only 10% of the total capacity, meaning 40 fans, will be able to attend the LCK matches in the venue. A big change for the LCK as a whole, who have been utilizing an online format.
The 2021 #LCK Summer will kick off on June 9th! 🎉

When it comes to offline play, the LCK was the only one of the major regions not to play locally, instead opting for online matches, with the teams playing from their facilities or homes. This was in contrast to regions such as the LEC and LCS, who all saw in-person events as their playoffs concluded. The most recent international tournament, the Mid-Season Invitational, which was also attended by LCK team DWG KIA, was played in-person.
For those who want to hear the crowd roar and see the LCK players in action again: you’ll have to wait until June 9, when the LCK starts up again. Fredit BRION and Liiv Sandbox will be the ones to open the Summer Split of 2021 with the first matchup.
