KennyS and NBK playing in VALORANT charity event, will they make the switch from CS:GO?

BLAST, the home of countless CS:GO tournaments and championships, announced their SpikeNations tournament. This tournament will feature 12 national teams across the EMEA region. As teams have been announced, some familiar names from CS:GO have risen eyebrows and created rumors.

The French national teams features two CS:GO legends in Kenny “KennyS” Schrub and Nathan “NBK” Schmitt. Both of these players were recently benched from their respective teams and potentially considered retirement from the tactical FPS after long and storied careers.

Their appearance in BLAST’s SpikeNations tournament will mark their first competitive showing in VALORANT. The tournament is set to take place in a matter of days, starting on October 7th and running until October 9th. Not affiliated with the ongoing VALORANT Champions Tour, SpikeNations is primarily about national pride with a total of €60,000 being donated to charity at the tournament’s end.

Many have speculated that KennyS and NBK will stay in VALORANT, and potentially eventually be signed to organizations, after the tournaments end. NBK already announced that he intends on pursuing a spot on a VALORANT roster after officially retiring from CS:GO. Though he has not yet found a team, it is all but guaranteed that he will find a home before the next VCT rolls around.

KennyS has still not officially announced his retirement from CS:GO after being benched by G2 Esports. Though many have rumored that KennyS is likely to change games, he has not yet confirmed or denied the possibility. Should KennyS perform well in SpikeNations, teams potentially could look to sign the former AWPing all-star to their VALORANT teams.
