Karrigan to move to FaZe Clan?

Recently rumours have surfaced that FaZe Clan is interested in acquiring mousesports’ current in-game leader karrigan. Since NiKo’s departure to G2, FaZe have been on the lookout for a new permanent fifth.

According to a report by Brazilian outlet The Clutch FaZe Clan have expressed their interest in Finn “karrigan” Andersen. Karrigan had been an integral part of FaZe Clan from 2016-2018 and the team won several championships during his tenure. While FaZe had successes like IEM Sydney 2018 and ESL One Belo Horizonte, they fell short in the legendary final of the Boston Major against Cloud 9.

Return to FaZe in March?

Mousesports had been the first team in which karrigan had found success in since his departure from FaZe. Under his leadership mouz climbed up to second place in the world rankings after championships at ESL Pro League Season 10 and EPICENTER 2019. However ever since the transition to online Counter-Strike, mouz has struggled with multiple disappointing early exits.

FaZe Clan had been on the lookout for a permanent fifth in the wake of NiKo’s departure to G2. As that transfer also made them lose their in-game leader karrigan seems like a logical choice once his contract with mouz expires in March. If olofmeister is unwilling to keep standing in for FaZe for that long, the organisation might just try to buy out karrigan’s contract.

Karrigan’s transfer would result in the following FaZe Clan roster:

  • Håvard “rain” Nygaard
  • Marcelo “coldzera” David
  • Helvijs “broky” Saukants
  • Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjærbye
  • Finn “karrigan” Andersen

The Clutch’s report has also suggested that karrigan might bring a current teammate from mousesports with him to FaZe. Likely players to be replaced would be Kjaerbye or rain.
