Jungler Trick announces retirement from professional League of Legends

A well-known face and name in the world of competitive League of Legend has decided to retire. Korean jungler Kim “Trick” Gang-yun announced on his Twitter page that he’ll no longer be competing and won’t be looking for a new team. Trick was a free agent for the past two months.

In his short announcement, Trick quickly talks about his former teammates and the competitive scene as a whole. “Bye pro-gamer life, maybe. Esports life was really fun and I had a good experience. I will miss the LEC, players, teammates, LCK and fans. I love all you guys and I hope u guys are doing well.”

Winning career

Trick has quite a long history when it comes to League of Legends, starting his career in Korea back in 2014 when he joined VTG 2 before transitioning to CJ Entus. His career would later bring him to Europe, when he became the jungler for G2 Esports, winning the then EU LCS four times in a row before heading back to Korea to join bbq Olivers. After a brief stint with Turkish team Galakticos he would return to Europe, playing for Schalke 04 and SK Gaming respectively.

In his final season with SK Gaming he helped them reach the sixth place in the LEC Summer Playoffs, barely missing out on a spot at Worlds. After his contract ran out in November Trick was a free agent, but has now decided to retire.
