Is the LCS a two-horse race between 100 Thieves and TSM? – Cloud9 avoids the upset

100 Thieves and TSM have kept a healthy lead over the rest of the LCS. Can anyone break the top two places they’ve held?

After countless upsets, TSM and 100 Thieves have still managed to hold onto their spots in first and second place. Though trading spots and tying for the top spot occasionally, the two have been a cut above the rest of the LCS. As Cloud9 and Evil Geniuses either regain their footing or maintain momentum, could they break this two-horse race?

TSM keep Team Liquid in 5th place – can they recover?

Team Liquid have continually struggled to compete against fellow top teams, and this continued in their game against TSM. Despite being ahead in dragons and kills for most the game, Team Liquid lead until one decisive team fight. Heo “Huni” Seung-hoon put on a clinic with his Jayce pick. The carry toplaner found an impressive 20.7K damage throughout the game.

Team Liquid have failed on both occasions this week to take down fellow top of the table teams. This has massively costed them, as they have fallen to 5th place. Right above Dignitas and just below Cloud9, TL certainly have a mountain to climb.

Can Cloud9 come back in the later half of Summer?

The Spring champions and NA MSI representatives have undoubtedly suffered in Summer. Falling from their first place spot, Cloud9’s inconsistency has seen them lose against bottom tier and their top four contemporaries as well. Cloud9 seem to finally be stringing together several clear cut wins, perhaps indicating a return to form.

Ibrahim “Fudge” Allami had yet another impressive showing on Gwen, paving the way for Cloud9’s victory. It’s been quite a while since Cloud9 has found a spot near the top, however they certainly seem the most likely to crack the top dogs.
