Is the 2021 Season of the Call of Duty League starting next month?

When it comes to the 2021 season of the Call of Duty League, fans haven’t received a lot of information. With a brand new game in the form of ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’ lots of people are eager to see the professional players compete. Through the Eavesdrop Podcast, we may have received a clue.

Last year we saw the Call of Duty League start in January but, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and the fact that Cold War released in November, the start of the season is a bit further away and fans will have to wait a little longer before the first event. All this despite the fact the league will be played entirely online. Neither Activision or Treyarch have communicated any official dates.

Fans may have found a clue in the Eavesdrop podcast with a clip being uploaded to Twitter by CDL Intel. There professional players Scump and Envoy discuss the timeframe they have to scrim before the first event hits. Scump: “We still have a month and a half of just scrimming before we actually play anything.” Envoy also said the same thing, hinting at the start of the CDL somewhere in February.

Either way, most teams already have their teams together and are scrimming to prepare for the upcoming season. Chances are we’ll receive more information in the coming weeks as well as a starting date.
