Is T-Mobile pulling out out of CDL following the Activision-Blizzard lawsuit?

The Call of Duty League could suffer from the recent Activision-Blizzard lawsuite.

One of the largest sponsors of both the Call of Duty League and Overwatch League is officially pulling out of both esports scenes. As one of the biggest sponsors of the CDL specifically, many sources have noted its absence from the official CDL website. The wireless carrier also often features in-game ‘drops’ during events which featured rewards for players.

It has not been officially confirmed as to why T-Mobile has left the CDL and Overwatch League, however recent controversy can certainly clue us in. The recent lawsuit of Activision-Blizzard has drastically changed the company. After the company was exposed for employee harassment, unjust hiring processes, and unfair promotion, Activision-Blizzard has received mass criticism.

Blizzard leadership has gone undergone a drastic overhaul, employees have left in mass, and production of games and viewership has dramatically dropped. This has already had ripple effects across the pro scene. As many players have boycotted Blizzard products, viewership has gone down across their multiple scenes. Now, it appears that advertisers are the next to leave the esports scenes.

Activision-Blizzard nor T-Mobile have commented on the loss of the partnership, however it is all but confirmed. This could drastically effect the broadcast and funding of both leagues, especially if more sponsors follow suite.
