Is Rekkles leaving G2 Esports already? – LEC and LCS roster rumors

The League of Legends season is coming to a close and ofcourse everything behind the scenes starts to get moving now. A lot of those things don’t stay behind the scenes very long, and thats why we write down some of the (possible) roster changes we stumbled upon lately.

Rekkles possibly leaving G2 Esports

Let’s start off with a banger, because there are no other words to describe this rumor. According to Thorin, G2 Esports would be looking into the possibility to sell (or ‘kick’) Rekkles from the team. It would be a huge shocker, since signing the Swedish ADC was maybe the biggest upset League of Legends esports had ever seen. He was transferred from Fnatic to rival G2 Esports to claim victories, but he didn’t manage to win the LEC and also didn’t qualify for Worlds 2021. All and all a very dissappointing season, but we’ll have to wait and see if he really leaves G2 after only one year.

Caps extends his contract with G2 Esports

On the other hand, there is also news about G2 Esports midlaner Rasmus ‘Caps’ Winther. The contract he originally signed would end in 2022, but this was extended to 2023. This is confirmed by the Global Contract Database of Riot Games. Although this year was very rough for G2 Esports and Caps, they decide to continue together.
