Is NiKo moving from FaZe to G2?

According to reports from HLTV, Nikola “NiKo” Kovač, who is currently representing FaZe Clan, might be moving to G2 Esports. Both G2 Esports and FaZe Clan are seemingly in talks to finalize a deal and a permanent transfer for NiKo. If the transfer actually happens, it might be one of the biggest moves ever in competitive CS:GO.

G2 Esports does however have a full CS:GO roster right now and if NiKo would join up with them, one of the current players would have to leave the active roster. The most obvious candidate for a replacement would be François “AmaNEk” Delaunay, who joined the organization back in 2019.

A move for NiKo isn’t that unlikely, as FaZe has struggled recently ever since they replaced Bymas with Kjaerbye in early August. On the other side of the coin G2 Esports also hasn’t been having the best time on the competitive side of things and will be looking to strengthen their roster.

If the deal goes through and NiKo makes the move to G2 Esports he wouldn’t carry the responsibility of being the IGL anymore as he did with FaZe Clan, a role that currently belongs to Nemanja “nexa” Isakovic within G2. NiKo has been the in-game leader for FaZe ever since Finn “karrigan” Andersen departed from the roster, but his overall results in the role have been spotty and inconsistent at best.
