Is Killjoy OP? – New Agent disabled at FaZe Clan VALORANT Invitational

VALORANT’s newest agent Killjoy will be disabled and won’t make an appearance at the FaZe Clan VALORANT invitational. The agent is currently being rigorously tested, but Riot Games itself feels like she is not ready to be used in an competitive environment as they fear she is “not stable”.

The FaZe Clan VALORANT Invitational, which was announced last week, starts today. This means Riot Games doesn’t have the time they require to tweak Killjoy where necessary as they think some bugs and issues might surface that could have a negative impact on the competitive integrity of the tournament. Riot requested to have Killjoy disabled for the tournament and announced their decision on Twitter, where people are mostly supportive of the situation.

Killjoy being disabled wasn’t really unexpected, as a lot of players who have been playing and testing her have spoken out about her very strong set of abilities. The agent makes use of tech-based abilities that enable her to deal too much damage much to quickly, which might become a problem in a competitive environment as she might be too strong to deal with effectively.

The FaZe Clan VALORANT Invitational kicks off tonight and is the fourteenth tournament in VALORANT’s Ignition series. The tournament itself features high-profile teams such as 100 Thieves, T1 and of course FaZe Clan themselves. The latter will be joined by ex-Overwatch pro player Rawkus to round out their team, who recently left the game to enter competitive VALORANT.
