Interview with KRÜ Klaus: “We all know that this is not our peak yet and we can make it even further.”

The South American team KRÜ esports have managed to snag a spot in the Top 8 after they sent the last Brazilian hope Keyd Stars home in their final group stage match.

After the match we sat down with Argentinian pro Nicolas “Klaus” Ferrari for a chat.

esports.com: Congratulations on the victory against Keyd Stars. You were celebrating quite a lot on stage. What did it mean for you to win that game?

Klaus: This win means a lot for us because now all of us at KRÜ, the staff and my teammates, we all know that this is not our peak yet and we can make it even further.

How did you manage to keep your cool to make the comeback happen on the second map?

We were really confident about our defense on the map. Beause we know it is defender-favored. So we were really trusting in ourselves.

Now that you are in the Top 8, what opponent do you want to face off against the most?

100 Thieves or a rematch against Envy.

We saw an an insane match between Sentinels and G2 earlier. Now that G2 has defeated Sentinels do you think you can beat G2 in this tournament?

Yes, of course we can. I am pretty sure we can.

You have successfully qualified for Champions in December. How do you think are your chances there?

Champions will be the culmination of our runs at Iceland and this tournament. So we are definitely ready.

Let’s talk about your agent choices in the games you played. Why do you enjoy playing Killjoy so much that it is your favourite pick?

I really like this Agent and I think it is also my best Agent. Additionally it is super useful for my team, so I am always looking forward to be helpful to my team.

On which map do you think is Killjoy the most useful to your team?

I think Haven or Ascent

I was wondering about the origins of your nickname, “Klaus”. It is an old-fashioned name in Germany, so what is the story behind it?

To be honest I did not think about it too much. When I was a kid, my sister just told me one time: “You should us this name Klaus, it is really nice.”

So I kept using it and never thought about it too much.
