Interview with Crazy Raccoon Fisker: “I think I am the best Skye player in our team”

Crazy Raccoon still has the chance to qualify for the VCT Masters playoffs in Berlin. After their important win against Havan Liberty we talked with Hideki “Fisker” Sasaki about his special role and what it takes to beat Gambit Esports.

esports.com: First of all congrats on the win Could you describe to me what the esports scene and especially the VALORANT scene looks like in Japan? How is it like and is VALORANT popular?

Fisker: So in Japan, VALORANT is really really big now. We also have good teams and the general situation in Japan is pretty good. We have perfect circumstances for VALORANT right now.

Your team is one of two that are working with substitutes on the roster. Does this apply some pressure on you because there are two players ready to replace you?

Since we have seven members, of course I am afraid of being substituted. But it gives me some strength too because I can try to work better and I can vibe together with the other substitutes.

Let us talk about the loss against Gambit. It was pretty hard to handle for you. How did you get over it and how did you prepare for this game?

So it’s all about the mind set. Last time we played against Gambit, our whole team was really nervous and we couldn’t show what we prepared for them. But today we were really believing in us, so we were kind of relaxed for the match against Havan Liberty.

You’ll meet Gambit in a rematch, looking like a way stronger team. Do you think you’ve got everything together for a win?

Last time we lost against Gambit, but we also learned from them. I think we can take our revenge on them.

We already talked about the fact that you are from Brazil. How’s your experience to play against a team from your homecountry?

I was really happy to play against them because in this international tournament I can play against all players from other countries. I have sympathies for the Brazilian team and it also gives me happiness to play against them.

On Haven, when you were playing as the attackers, we rarely saw you attacking the C spot or any other spot. Which one do you prefer as a team while playing on the attackers side and why?

We didn’t really have a specific spot to attack but we decided, depending on the situation and the weapons the enemies have. We find out where to attack. It depends on the situation in the match.

Your number one pick today was Skye. Why do you think this Agent is better than others? Why do you pick Skye so often?

Because I think Skye is a really flexible Agent. She can search for enemies and she can also be an aggressive Agent to entry. I think I am the best Skye player in our team.

We`ve seen in this game that you are always two steps ahead of your opponent. Is this just because of great preparation for this specific team or thanks to your team’s excellent communication?

I think it’s all about communication. Because of the communication we have played better this time. That’s the reason why we could adjust our game against the opponent.

Thank you very much for the interview.
