Immortals plan to rebuild LCS roster – sOAZ takes year-long break

Immortals had a rough year in the LCS and has made the decision to do a major overhaul of their LCS and academy roster. They’ve already kickstarted things by releasing four players and their coach from their starting roster and still have big plans looking forward.

Among the players that are leaving the starting lineup are bot laner Johnny “Altec” Ru, support Austin “Gate” Yu, veteran player and top laner Paul “sOAZ” Boyer, mid laner Jeremy “Eika” Valdenaire and their coach Adriend “GoToOne” Picard. On Twitter, Immortals made a post about their decision as they thank their former players and wish them the best going forward.

With the big changes coming to the Immortals roster there might also be some opportunities for the players that are still left. Players such as top laner Kieran “Allorim” Logue, mid laner David “Insanity” Challe, bot laner Apollo “Apollo” Price and support Nickolas “Hakuho” Surgent will be looking to step up if needed. Jungler Jake “Xmithie” Puchero is also still at the organization but after being dropped down to the academy team chances are he’ll be looking for another team soon.

Top laner Paul “sOAZ” Boyer posted a statement on Twitter following his departure from the Immortals roster, talking about his possible future endeavors. “Even though I believe I can still compete at the top level, I think it’s for the better that I make the decision to take a year off from playing. It’s honestly exciting for me to think about coaching players, theorycrafting and being more involved with staff.”

Do you think Immortals needs to make some new signings? Who’d you like to see at the organization?
