Ibrahimović criticizes EA Sports over FIFA 21

Zlatan Ibrahimović is known to not mince his words. On Monday the Sweded heavily criticized EA Sports for using his name and face in FIFA 21.

Zlatan Ibrahimović is firing shots at EA Sports. The football star playing for AC Milan publicly vented his anger at EA via Twitter and alsocalled FIFPro, the player union in football, out, which handles players’ rights for the video games.

According to Ibrahimović himself he is not part of FIFpro and said that he has never agreed to EA using his name to earn money. Although Ibrahimović has been a part of the FIFA series for several years now, he claims to not have signed any agreement. He also announced that it is now “time to investigate”.

It is still unclear if Ibrahimović is willing to go to court for his perceived abuse of his own rights. EA Sports and his club AC Milan have signed an exclusive partnership for several years as they announced for FIFA 21.

Ibrahimović’ license rights should be covered by the FIFPro but he might also have special exclusive rights in his contracts.
