Where to find the Gold Scarab Talisman

So where is the Talisman located? You can get the Gold Scarab in the Abandoned Cave dungeon in Caelid, the region filled with red poisonous swamps east of Limgrave. You can get there by following the road northeast of Limgrave past Summonwater Village.

Alternatively you can get there via the Dragon-Burnt Ruins in the Limgrave lakebed where you can encounter the first dragon. Thankfully you do not need to fight him to get into the ruins. Look for stairs leading downward into a cellar with a chest and open it to get transported to Caelid. The second way is faster but more dangerous as you get ported to the Sllia Crystal Tunnel dungeon. So make sure that you are either sufficiently leveled or confident enough in your stealth abilities to make it out of there.

Once you are in Caelid you can find the Abandoned Cave dungeon east of the Smoldering Wall and south of Deep Siofra Well. Make sure to also activate the Site of Grace inside before challenging the dungeon.

How to get the Gold Scarab

The dungeon itself is fairly self-explanatory. Avoid the environmental hazards in there like the geysers and poison clouds as you clear out the cave. Pack a couple of anti-Rot items to be on the safe side of things. Once you make it to the end of the dungeons you have to face two Cleanrot knights with beefed-up stats that serve as bosses of the area. Try to focus down one at a time as the enclosed space can make it difficult to dodge both of their attacks.

After their defeat you finally get rewarded with the Gold Scaraba Talisman that nets you a cool 20% bonus on Runes collected.

As nice as the Gold Scarab is for farming Runes, make sure to unequip it for more challenging fights in which you need to optimize your equipment. Enjoy your extra Runes in your journey throughout the Lands Between.
