GeT_RiGhT leaves competitive CS:GO to pursue content creation

His future was up in the air for quite a while, but Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund has decided to step away from professional CS:GO to pursue his career of streaming and content creation. His retirement marks the end of a career that lasted over 13 years in both Counter-Strike and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Alesund most notably made a name for himself with Ninjas in Pyjamas, where he spent almost seven years of his career. During his career Alesund was considered one of the best CS:GO players of all time, being selected as the number one ranked player in 2013 and 2014 by HLTV, alongside a number two ranking in 2010 and 2012. He also holds numerous MVP awards.

GeT_RiGhT’s last competitive team would be Dignitas, which he joined following his departure from Ninjas in Pyjamas in September 2019, reuniting with Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg, Richard “Xizt” Landström, Adam “friberg” Friberg and Robin “Fifflaren” Johansson.. In total he would play for Dignitas for almost eight months before becoming inactive.

It looks like GeT_RiGhT will now be focusing on his streaming career, announcing some big things on his Twitch stream. In an interview with HLTV, he talked about the legacy he leaves behind. “I had a lot of people against me in the beginning because they thought I didn’t deserve the chance to be a professional player. I want people to remember me that way, that this is a person who gave everything for the game, for himself, for the fans. At the end of the day, I’m just lucky to have become a professional gamer. I want them to remember that this was a stubborn guy who never gave up, no matter what.”
