Gambit and Heroic are finals bound, Furia’s run comes to an end

The two remaining favorites, Gambit and Heroic, moved past their opponents and into their latest finals appearance.

Reaching their second finals of 2021, Gambit certainly seemed to have remained in trophy winning form by handedly taking down Ninjas In Pyjamas. Inferno was an absolute blowout for Gambit, ending CT-side 11-4 and keeping NIP to a single round win in the second half. Vladislav “nafany” Gorshkov propelled Gambit to this ideal start, ending with 26 total kills and 109 ADR.

NIP managed to put up a much better fight on Dust2 however ended with the same result which led to Gambit’s series win. Similar to map one, Gambit went on a tear in the first half, nafany once again proving invaluable in facilitating the 13-2 T-side. NIP went on a tear themselves in the second half, eclipsing Gambit in round wins and appearing as though they would complete the perfect comeback. All Gambit needed though was three round wins, and sure enough they secured them.

Carry the CIS torch once again to the finals in the ESL Pro League, Gambit are poised to complete a near perfect run.

Heroic saw a similar 2-0 win, ending the impressive run made by the Brazilian roster in a clean sweep. Game one on Mirage saw the first of two tight contests, Yuri “yuurih” Santos once again had an incredible performance for the side of Furia, finding 25 total frags however ultimately falling 16-11.

Game two ended Dust2 one round shorter, trailing 9-6 on CT-side but finding a 10 round winstreak in the last half of the series. Former MAD Lion Rasmus “sjuush” Beck leading his relatively new team wit 24 kills and 92 ADR. It certainly bodes well that in their first formal tournament with this new iteration of the roster they have already made finals, only winning the tournament being even more optimal.
