G2 leads group A, FlyQuest claims first NA victory in Worlds 2020 Groups

On the third day of the Worlds 2020 Main Event group stage, G2 Esports had the chance to take the lead in group A. Meanwhile FlyQuest saw a chance to score NA’s first victory in the group stage against Unicorns of Love, all while TOP Esports and DRX faced off in a clash of titans over in group D.

Machi Esports and G2 Esports kicked off the day of games with a competitive game, which was eventually won by G2 Esports. Support “Mikyx” was one of the standout players on his Tahm Kench, flanked by “Perkz” Ashe. G2 is now on top of group A with a 2-0 score. The game between Suning and Team Liquid took an entirely different turn. Suning outclassed Team Liquid on almost every level, despite a Baron steal from “Jensen”. Liquid now sits in last place with a 0-2 record, while Suning evens things out after the loss against G2.

PSG Talon continued their slump against favourite DAMWON. The latter absolutely dominated and improved to a 3-0 record, while PSG sits at 0-3. Rogue wasn’t able to beat JD Gaming in the other group B game. Especially the bot lane of JD Gaming had a strong showing through “LokeN” on Caitlyn and “LvMao” on Bard. Rogue falls to 1-2, JD Gaming trails behind DAMWON with a 2-1 record.

FlyQuest played an eventful game against Unicorns of Love, with multiple throws from both teams. It was FlyQuest that pulled out the first NA win in the groups stage after a devastating teamfight at 35 minutes, leaving UOL defenseless. In a clash of titans Chinese TOP Esports defeated Korean DRX in an interesting match. Mid laner “knight” opted for nocturne, which turned out well, while bot laner “JackeyLove” also showed up on the Senna pick.
