G2 Esports finalizes 2022 CS:GO roster with Aleksib and XTQZZZ

G2 Esports has finally completed its roster overhaul ahead of the 2022 competitive season. The team has added former OG IGL Aleksib and previous Vitality coach XTQZZZ to fill out the squad. Though rumors around these signings have swirled for several weeks, G2’s video titled ‘The Final Piece’ confirmed these roster movements.

The video featured the current G2 Esports CS:GO members, struggled to put together the perfect roster and even referencing the team’s shortcomings against Na’Vi. In the final moments, Aleksib enters the room to finally put the final piece into place. The end confirmed the G2 starting five: m0NESY, NiKo, JACKZ, huNter-, and Aleksib with XTQZZZ acting as head coach.

This announced confirmed the removal of G2’s previous IGL, Nexa. In exchange for Aleksib, G2 sent the rifler off to OG to fill the void of Aleksib. Former AWPer AMANEK will also officially move to the bench as the 16-year-old prodigy m0NESY will man the role for now. Likely AMANEK will eventually be removed from the roster though has yet to find a more permanent role.

Former G2 Esports coach Malek departed several weeks ago, already signed on as Evil Geniuses head coach for 2022. XTQZZZ led the Team Vitality squad since nearly the organization’s inception in CS:GO. G2 overall had an outstanding 2021, though largely failed on some of the largest stages of all, including the PGL Stockholm Major. With a new, reloaded roster G2 is looking for an even better 2022.
