KennyS denies VALORANT rumor: “I just want to grind CS right now”

Yesterday a rumor surfaced saying Kenny “KennyS” Schrub might be plotting a surprising move to VALORANT. The frenchman has now denied that claim.

In response to a tweet mentioning the earlier rumor of his possible move to VALORANT, KennyS commented on his career. “Yes it is (fake), VALORANT is a great game but I want to grind Counter-Strike right now.” The rumor saw KennyS possibly joining up with the VALORANT roster of Alliance, who are lacking a fifth player.

It’s currently still unclear what the future steps will be for KennyS, who is now focusing on streaming CS:GO on his Twitch channel. He is allowed to explore other options following his benching over at G2 Esports, where JACKZ has been added to the main roster a few days ago with NiKo picking up a hybrid rifler/AWPer role.

G2 Esports decide to bench KennyS, JACKZ returns to main roster

G2 Esports has announced that Kenny “KennyS” Schrub will be moved from the active roster to the bench, as he’ll be allowed to explore other options.

In a statement posted to Twitter by the organization they explain the roster move, also mentioning that Nikola “NiKo” Kovac will transition to a hybrid Rifler/AWP role. According to G2 Esports, the decision was made by the support staff and management following discussions with the team. We’ll also get to see the roster, with JACKZ competing, in action very soon as they will play in ESL Pro League Season 13 on March 13.

G2 Esports coach Damien “maLeK” Marcel commented on the swap, reaffirming the impact KennyS had on the roster and how they’ll be playing going forward. “We are excited to have JACKZ return to the team, bringing his flair, creativity and a new balance to the team. NiKo repositioning as a hybrid AWPer gives us a more open-minded approach while also providing more flexibility within our game and the current meta.

While G2 Esports certainly had their moments in 2020, towards the end of the year and in the current year results have been slacking. Most recently they were eliminated from IEM Katowice in the group stage despite making a lower bracket run, where they were defeated by future winners Gambit Esports.
