G2 and Na’Vi bound to meet each other in the PGL Stockholm Major Finals

After two intensive Semi-Finals, Natus Vincere and G2 Esports are bound to meet in the PGL Stockholm Major Finals. Both teams have had incredible runs throughout the tournament, both hosting two of the most decorated players in CS:GO history. Now, either NiKo or S1mple will lift a Major trophy for the first time in their career.

The final obstacle will not be easy for either team, as both squads showed their prowess in their respective Semi-final matchups. Here’s how both the series went, and how we can expect these two to perform in the ultimate showdown.

G2 Esports edge out Heroic in an OT thriller

G2’s 2-1 victory over Heroic was undoubtedly the most intense, nail biter game on the day. Heroic took an early lead in the series on Nuke (16-12), despite the best efforts of NiKo the Danish squad last minute resurgence won them an their the first map.

Despite suffering a 6-1 start, G2 recovered on Mirage. NiKo seemed to thrive back on LAN, top fragging for the second consecutive map, finding 24 kills and 105.8 ADR in the 10-16 win. NiKo carried this momentum into the final map of the series (15-19) where G2 ultimately claimed the win. Though a team effort, the Bosnian fragger ended with a staggering 81 total frags and a well deserved 1.48 rating.

Na’Vi win the CIS civil war

Once again tasked with taking on their perennial domestic rivals, Natus Vincere proved why they are the region’s oldest and most storied organization with a clean 2-0 win. None other than S1mple had a dominant performance across the relatively short, two map series.

The superstar player found an incredible 50 frags off of 112.7 ADR. Long considered one of the game’s best players, S1mple has yet to win a Major with his long-time team. PGL Stockholm seems to S1mple’s best bet to finally win the illustrious title and claim his long awaited trophy.
