Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng’s era in the jersey of Team Liquid is over. For the 2020 Summer Split he returns to Team SoloMid.
League of Legends Superstar Doublelift will get a new chance after a historically weak Spring Split in 2020. The return to Team SoloMid after two and a half years at Team Liquid was confirmed on April 26. According to the contract database of Riot Games the AD Carry signed a contract until November 17.

The 26-years-old bot laner got into trouble recently because of lacking motivation. This caused Team Liquid to bench him in the middle of the Spring Split. Even though Doublelift admitted making mistakes he was set to the transfer list by the organization. Now he can prove himself in the black-and-white colors of Team SoloMid once again.
Reunited with Former Teammates
For Doublelift the return to TSM might just be the boost he needs for a competitive restart. The American will be reunited with his former teammates Vincent “Biofrost” Wang and Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg with whom he played together during his first time at TSM. The trio won two LCS titles together.
In a recent statement on Youtube the ADC explained that his return to the team had nothing to do with his relationship with TSM president Aileena Xu.
Doublelift won seven LCS titles, three times with TSM and four times in a row with Team Liquid. But in the latest Spring Split Team Liquid’s struggles set a new record: Liquid was the first LCS team ever to miss out on the Playoffs as defending champions.
However the return of Doublelift to TSM spells disaster for Kasper “Kobbe” Kobberup who lost his spot on the bot lane. TSM already announced that they are in negotiations with other teams, but with the majority of the LCS teams having no capacity for more ‘import players’ his future in North America looks grim.
More details will be announced in the future. Right now Kobbe got a contract until November 2021. The Danish ADC only arrived at TSM five month ago and faces now the prospect of a one-year limbo.
