Fortnite – Aquaman arrives on the isle for season 3

Fortnite’s Season 3 “Splash Down” is about to hit the live servers. Prior to the official launch leakers have already found plenty of new additions, including DC’s Aquaman.

As season 3 revolves entirely around water DC’s super hero Aquaman, king of the seas, is the ideal new poster boy for Fortnite. Epic Games has faithfully recreated an Aquaman skin that will also come with new quests and rewards.

Fortnite’s live in-game event “The Device” shattered previous records with ease. After several teasers Epic Games has now released the official Trailer revealing a brand new map in the eye of a water storm.

Aquaman arrives in Fortnite

The challenges for the first two weeks have already been leaked. In the first you need to use a whirlpool at Fortilla, for the second you need to bring your fishing rod to Sweaty Sands. Use it to hitch a ride behind a loot shark.

Rewards for Aquaman challenges:

  • Week 1: Loading screen: “King of the Beach”
  • Week 2: Spray “Trident!”
  • Week 3: Aquaman’s Trident pickaxe
  • Week 4: Back Bling “Supreme Shell”
  • Week 5: 35,000 XP
A new map emerges

Among the leaks was also the brand new map. But quite a number of fans dislike the design as social media filled with criticism.

Many complain about the size of the map being unsuited for 100 players, others bemoan that popular spots like Grotto or Sweaty Sands have been flooded.

Time for a ride

Leaker HYPEX also found out that players will be able to drive cars in season 3. Although a flooded map does not really seem like an ideal ground for cars, Epic Games did say that the flooded areas might resurface later as The Verge reported.
According to the report Fortnite’s map will have ebb and flow revealing or hiding parts of the map.

After a very long season 2 some players already went digging for the approximate end of season 3. According to HYPEX fans will have until August 27 to enjoy the third season of Chapter 2.
