Former professional Fortnite player Zeek joins G2 Esports VALORANT

G2 Esports has signed Aleksander “zeek” Zygmunt to their VALORANT roster. An unusual signing, as zeek has made the switch from competitive Fortnite to VALORANT, where he played for AGO Esports. He has played VALORANT since its inception in 2020. G2 Esports also found a new coach in Neil “nEiLZiNHo” Finlay.

Zeek took his first steps in competitive VALORANT with Those Guys, which featured a roster consisting of fully Polish players. He spent a couple months on the roster before moving on to nolpenki, with whom he was able to qualify for First Strike. From there on out, nolpenki fell to FunPlus Phoenix in the quarterfinals of the tournament. The roster would go on to disband in December of 2020.

G2 Esports also made a change to their in December, with David “Davidp” Prins becoming inactive as he looks for a new team. This left G2 Esports with a roster consisting of only four players, among them Oscar “Mixwell” Canellas Colocho. The team was on a serious winning streak before losing out to Team Heretics in the semifinals of First Strike, forcing them to make a change.

The change is made with the VALORANT Champions Tour in mind, where G2 Esports will be competing as the favorites. The first stage of the Champions Tour is planned for February 4 and will feature 8 teams.
