Football team Club Brugge announces CS:GO team

After their domestic success in the Jupiler Pro League and some good performances in the European competitions, football team Club Brugge will be fielding a CS:GO team in the new betFirst Elite Series, a Benelux CS:GO competition. Club Brugge wants to further strengthen their position in esports by expanding to more games.

Earlier Club Brugge already made moves into FIFA but will now be expanding their esports division by including more games. Their first step towards achieving this goal will be signing a CS:GO roster and competing in the newly announced Betfirst Elite Series – which features six of the best teams in the Benelux – with Club Brugge hoping to reach the Benelux CS:GO community.

Club Brugge isn’t the first football team to enter the esports atmosphere. Teams such as Paris Saint-Germain have entered both the League of Legends and DOTA scene, briefly holding a Rocket League team as well. Perhaps the most well known example is Schalke 04, who are currently competing in the European League of Legends competition or LEC.
