FlyQuest debuts in 2022 LCS Spring Split with Janna Smite top pick

The 2022 LCS Spring Split has only been running for one day, but FlyQuest made sure to remember the opening night by picking Janna Smite top.

The pick wasn’t completely unsurprising, as Janna Smite top has been a popular pick in high elo games. She has garnered an impressive 58.06 percent win rate and made her debut on the LCS stage when FlyQuest picked her against CLG.

And as opposed to Zeri’s professional debut, FlyQuest’s top laner Kumo managed to help his team win.

Janna was picked up during the first rotation, and while it was unclear where she would go at first, FlyQuest’s fourth pick Leona confirmed the top lane debut.

The pick helped FlyQuest to an early lead, despite CLG pushing to their opponent’s Nexus towers before the 30 minute mark. The Janna-backed team had plenty of choices to end the game, up to where CLG left their base completely unguarded to take the Elder Dragon.

The game ended just before the 50-minute mark when FlyQuest won the ever-important fight around baron, giving mid laner Toucouille the opportunity to finish off the open Nexus.

Kumo played a decent game, ending the game with a 1/2/17 score line. He didn’t have the best laning phase, falling behind a somewhat impressive 82 cs by the 10-minute mark, but in the end the top laner can boast a 100% win rate on Janna Smite top.

FlyQuest has a shot at a 2-0 opening week as they play  Golden Guardians later today.
