FIFA does not have ‘scripting’ according to recent lawsuit results

FIFA players have always believed scripting was a thing in the game, but the recent outcome of a lawsuit regarding the issue seems to suggest otherwise.

For those who are uninitiated, a lot of FIFA fans think EA Sports has code present in their games that alters the difficulty of the game in the form of player stats and that tries to alter the outcome of games. EA Sports was faced with a lawsuit in California for altering and interfering in their matches. The lawsuit ended being withdrawn following EA Sports revealing the secrets to their code, with the publisher saying there is no such thing as Dynamic Difficulty Adjustment or scripting present. Some fans are still not convinced, however.

While no specifics are available in regards as to what was revealed, the outcomes does suggest that EA Sports does not have scripting present as was alleged by the lawsuit. In a statement, EA commented on the outcome. “Ensuring play is fair is critical to all of us at EA. We’ve tried to be as clear as possible that this commitment applies to us just as much as it does to our players.”

It’s not the first time EA Sports has faced similar claims, as they also face a similar suit in France. In recent years EA Sports has mostly fought legal battles in regards to their Ultimate Team sales, which some governments consider “illegal gambling”, leading to these microtransactions being removed in some countries following legal pressure.
