FaZe Clan adds Kjaerbye to CS:GO roster

Esports organisation FaZe Clan have decided to add Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjærbye to their CS:GO roster, bringing their total to five active players again. Kjaerbye will join the organisation as Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras leaves for mousesports as a ‘development player’.

Kjaerbye became a free agent in July when he left Danish CS:GO team North after a period of inactivity. Previously he was active for teams such as Copenhagen Wolves, Dignitas and Astralis. He’s got some first place finishes to his name, mostly with North and Astralis, such as the ELEAGUE Major Atlanta 2017 with Astralis and DreamHack Masters Stockholm 2018 and DreamHack Open Sevilla 2019 with North.

The Dane now finds himself in the company of other accomplished players such as Nikola “NiKo” Kovač and Håvard “rain” Nygaard. He will face some pressure as he’s essentially replacing Olof “olofmeister” Gustafsson. On Twitter, Kjaerbye reacted to him joining FaZe. “Thanks for the warm welcome FaZe Clan! I can’t wait to get started!”

There won’t be a lot of time for Kjaerbye to adjust to his new environment and teammates however, as FaZe Clan will participate in ESL One Cologne 2020 on August 18. There they’ll take on some of the best teams in the world such as Astralis, Team Liquid and G2 Esports. Kjaerbye will certainly look to make his mark during the tournament and prove his place as a new member of FaZe Clan.
