Fans disappointed as Overwatch 2 won’t release in 2021

Activision Blizzard has come out to say that Overwatch 2 won’t be releasing in 2021, pushing the earliest possible point of release back to 2022.

Overwatch 2 is heavily anticipated by fans of Overwatch who are clamoring for something new, with many of them now being disappointed the game won’t come out in 2021 like most people expected. The developers of the game have said new content is on hold for the time being as Overwatch 2 is being worked on but haven’t given out an official date of release as of yet. The news was released following reports that Overwatch 2 has suffered heavy delays in production.

On social media many fans are angry as they’re looking for more content to enjoy in Overwatch, something that hasn’t really happened since the first months of 2020. Most of the fans hope to get some more answers during BlizzConline, which takes place from February 19 to February 20. A lot of them are asking to at least offer more content for the current Overwatch game while waiting for the release of the sequel.

Overwatch 2 would provide a more polished and mechanically updated version featuring an all-new story mode. Recently a lot of professional players in Overwatch have also made the switch to VALORANT, as they feel the game has stagnated while waiting for the long-anticipated sequel.
