Evil Geniuses closing deal with MICHU, Tarik rumored to be benched

Evil Geniuses are in the process of another roster shakeup.

After dropping out in the group stages of both IEM Katowice and the ESL Pro League, Evil Geniuses seem set on making another roster switchup. Michal “MICHU” Muller, most known for his time on Virtus.pro and coming from his most recent spot on Envy, is said to be in the final phases of signing with Evil Geniuses.

Rumors have since prospered over who’s spot MICHU is set to fill, with most speculating that Tarik “tarik” Celik will leave the team. Though anything has yet to be confirmed, Evil Geniuses could be trying their hand at a 6 man roster.

One of the few North American organizations to stick with their Counter-Strike roster throughout the pandemic, Evil Geniuses have moved between their headquarters in NA and Serbia to maintain relevance in the online era. Despite this, several middling results and sudden player decisions have prompted these changes.

Potentially Evil Geniuses’ second biggest roster change in the past months, this deal follows Ethan “ethan” Arnolds sudden switch to VALORANT and subsequent replacement by Owen “oBo” Schlatter. On his second NA team, MICHU is set to make his debut on April 19th in the FunSPark ULTI 2020 Europe Final but more notably the BLAST Premier Spring Final soon approaching.
