Hazard Zone is the third game mode in Battlefield 2042, next to Portal and All Out Warfare. You need to salvage and collect data from crashed satellites across the map. In eight teams with up to four players you compete in collecting the valuable data. But you also need to focus on getting out of the area safely. If your team gets eliminated entirely all progress is lost.

Seven different maps will ensure variety for the new mode that merges PvP and PvE.

Collecting Data and getting out after

The crashed satellite capsules will be focal points for firefights between the teams. But in order to extract the data from them you need to be in one of two extraction windows per match. Success in Hazard Zone will depend on skill, tactical planning and a smidge of luck.

At the end at least one team member needs to survive and successfully evacuate with the data to fulfill the quest. There will be two timeframes in which teams can evacuate: Once in the midgame and once at the end. If you miss them you will be left with nothing. Successful operations in Hazard Zone will reward players with experience and a special in-game currency that allows you to purchase upgrades for the next round.
