According to reports the ESL is going to host a CS:GO Major in 2022 and will give the previously cancelled Rio Major another attempt.

As Dexerto reports the tournament will be named IEM Rio Major. The report also details that the event will be scheduled from October 31 to November 13. It would be the first ESL Major since IEM Katowice 2019. The planned ESL One: Rio was a victim of the COVID pandemic.
Last year the ESL already announced that they are trying to work out another attempt at a Rio Major with Valve in 2022. HLTV reported in May that Valve is planning two Majors for 2022. One of those is scheduled for May 9 to May 22. The second Major’s dates are not known yet, but the rumoured ESL Major in Rio would fit the bill.
