Epic Games delays Fortnite Champion Series qualifiers following bug

The competitive fortnite season is starting up again, but Epic Games has decided to postpone the FNCS qualifiers following a bug that prevents people from being able to queue in tournaments.

More specifically the bug is present in the newest update of the game, namely patch v15.30. Epic Games decided to give themselves a little more time to tackle the bug and fix it ahead of the FNCS qualifiers, which will be pushed back for a week. Alongside the bug that prevents player to queue in tournaments, the newest update has suffered a lot of other minor bugs which Epic Games is trying to solve.

With the first qualifier being postponed, all dates for the FNCS qualifier have shifted. The first qualifier will now take place on February 11, while the second and third one have been moved to February 18 and February 25 respectively. There’s a chance the delay will also affect later stages of the tournament, but Epic Games has yet to give out more information on this topic.

Earlier this year Epic Games already reaffirmed they’re putting more effort into the competitive scene as they have increased the prize pool for the 2021 season alongside increasing the frequency of tournaments. Epic Games will be scheduling weekly tournaments, unique tournaments and Creator Cups alongside their bigger competitions and FNCS.
