The official Genshin Impact Twitter account launched a community challenge last night and the contents of that challenge were a bit weird. As the Twitter account for the game reached 2 million followers, they decided to host a community challenge that asked players to follow Ella Musk, a character in the game, on Twitter. If the milestones were reached, they’d have some rewards for players, which almost all related to entrepreneur Elon Musk in some way.
Some of the rewards included renaming Genshin Impact back to its old name PAIMON, following Elon Musk on Twitter with the official Genshin Impact account and asking him to stream the game. People didn’t know what to do with the bizarre tweet and there were a lot of questions and community pushback about it, leading to the Genshin Impact account eventually deleting the tweet.
Fans are quite mad about the whole situation, because Genshin Impact is notorious for giving few rewards to their players, as was evident in their recent anniversary celebration. Things got so out of hand that Elon Musk himself eventually took to Twitter to talk about it after obviously being tagged by fans. “Can’t wait to be in Genshin Impact.”
