DrDisrespect to stream again – but on YouTube this time

Even though we still don’t know why he was banned on Twitch, DrDisrespect will return to streaming today on YouTube. He’ll be returning tonight at 3pm EDT with his first stream in over a month.

Guy Beahm, DrDisrespect’s real name, signed a deal with Twitch to stay on the platform back in March. It looked like DrDisrespect would remain on Twitch in the future but they banned the popular streamer without offering an explanation as to why (which they seldom do as it is their policy regarding bans) and pulled out of the contract. Now it looks like DrDisrespect can’t wait any longer as he set up his YouTube account with subscriptions, looking to make YouTube his new platform for the foreseeable future.

Yesterday DrDisrespect started a livestream on YouTube which featured some graphics, music and voice lines teasing his return. The livestream would go on to garner over 300.000 viewers and significant hype even though DrDisrespect wouldn’t appear on stream after all. Beahm took to Twitter to announce the time of his return which was set at 3pm EDT. Chances are we’ll be getting a full-fledged stream and we might even find out some more about his prolonged absence.

People who want to support DrDisrespect can now do so on YouTube by joining his channel for $5, similar to subscriptions on Twitch. DrDisrespect isn’t the only big streamer who took to YouTube, as Ninja also streamed on the platform a while ago, presumably to ‘test the waters’ for an eventual return.
