Dota 2: Virtus.Pro wins ESL One Los Angeles Online EU&CIS

Topping off their dominant showing so far, Virtus.Pro sealed the deal with a 3-2 victory over OG in the Grand Finals of ESL One Los Angeles Online. Earning themselves a nice 60,000 US-Dollar in the first major online Dota 2 competition in 2020.
Virtus.Pro continues to dominate

With the Grand Finals victory in the bag, Virtus.Pro have put their mark firmly on the first large online tournament in the wake of the CoVid 19 pandemic. Ending the tournament with a 21-5 record it seems like Alexey “Solo” Berezin’s Virtus.Pro has finally found their stride. Only OG seemed up to the task of stopping the CIS-squad and although their two victories in the final were impressive, VP delivered two beatdowns on their own before clinching the title in an even game 5.

Recap of the Grand Finals:

Is iLTW the answer to VP’s struggles?

After the celebrated core of Virtus.Pro fell apart in the wake of another disappointing TI-finish VP were struggling to fill in the gaps left by the departures of Pavel “9pasha” Khvastunov and Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev. New members came and went without elevating Virtus.Pro to its former heights.

However after the addition Igor “iLTW” Filatov as a stand-in things have been looking up for VP as win followed win for their first title of the season. Whether or not iLTW will become a fully fledged member of the team remains to be seen, but after his performances during ESL One Los Angeles Online it won’t be surprising to see VP buy him out of Team Spirit.
