Dota 2 star ppd and Sadboys part ways, won’t compete in Season 2

One of the biggest and most well-known players currently competing, Peter “ppd” Dager, has decided to step away from his Dota 2 team Sadboys.

Ppd announced the news of his departure from Sadboys, a team of which he was one of the founders going in the DPC NA, on Twitter. In his tweet, he briefly touched upon the upcoming season and the possible direction of his future career, which might include more casting. “Officially out of the team. I’m not sure if I’ll be competing in season 2. Hopefully I can do some more casting. I appreciate the support.”

Sadboys entered the DPC NA with quite a bit of hype behind them, but weren’t able to deliver as they ended their first season in the competition in 5th place. Sadboys would go on to win matches against A-Team and 5ManMidas but mostly lost out to the other power hitters in the competition, among them teams such as Evil Geniuses and Quincy Crew. Sadboys would go on to win their tiebreakers matches to retain their spot in the competition, but it’ll be without ppd going forward.

With their captain leaving, Sadboys will have to find a capable replacement, most likely picking up a stand-in for their first matches as they go on a search.
