Valve has released more information regarding future updates. In a blog post the developers detailled the plans for Patch 7.28 and the new Dota Pro Circuit.

In their short blog post they touched on their plans for the remainder of the year and beyond. First up on the list is the new Dota Plus season. Starting from December 1st the seasonal quests will reset and Valve promised more features including a new seasonal treasure. Valve also stated that they are on track to introduce the previously announced anti-cheat Overwatch system.

Patch 7.28 with a new Hero in Mid December

Players can also look forward to December for the upcoming major balance Patch 7.28. It will be launched mid December along with a new hero and bring much needed change to the current meta.

Another welcome piece of news is the long-awaited return of the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) in 2021. After the majority of the 2020 season fell victim to the ongoing pandemic the competitive scene had been somewhat in limbo even as the prize pool for The International broke yet another record.

16 Teams in 6 Regional Leagues

The 2021 Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) will introduce the regional leagues, which will serve as the new way to qualify for the Majors and The International at the end of the Dota season. Each regional league will feature 16 teams in two divisions, with the top teams qualifiying to the first Major of 2021. The 2021 DPC will begin on January 18th and herald the return of top tier Dota 2 competition.
