Dota 2 – BLAST announces Dota 2 Bounty Hunt

A new tournament organizer arrives in Dota 2. BLAST, popular for their Pro and Premier Series in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, are dipping their toes into Dota 2.

For their inaugural Bounty Hunt tournament BLAST has invited six top European teams to participate. OG, Team Secret, Nigma, Team Liquid, Alliance and NiP have all confirmed their entry to BLAST’s event.

Bounties up for grabs

Besides a whopping $145,000 prize pool the BLAST Bounty Hunt will also offer a unique format: The six participants will first seed each other before playing out a double elimination bracket to determine the winners.

However the format is not the only plot twist in Bounty Hunt. BLAST has decided to implement a dynamic prize pool to “create real reward and tension during every match”. The six teams will start with $15,000 (or in case of seeds one and two $20,000) each. In every match 40% of their accumulated bounty is waged on the winner with an addition $45,000 in extra bounties earnable along the way.

If a team goes undefeated with additional bounties to boot they might go home with $96,000.
