Dota 2 – $500.000 EPIC League Season 2 announced

Epic Esports Events announced the successor to their OMEGA League earlier this year. The event features top EU and CIS teams playing for half a million US-Dollars in the first division.

Open qualifiers for the event will kick off October 29th – 30th on FaceIt, where participants will be able to play for a spot in the closed qualifiers. There the two best teams can qualify for the first division.

Teams already seeded in the first division are big names such as first season’s winners Team Secret, OG, Team Liquid, Nigma, and many more. In the first division, they will play for $500.00 with the first team grabbing a share of $200.000. Teams in the second division will fight for a prize pool of $50.000.

The main event will start on November 12th with the twelve teams in the first division fighting in two groups to qualify for the playoffs. The tournament helps to fill the gap that the pandemic tore in the Dota 2 competitive season.

While funding for The International’s prize pool is reaching new heights, Valve still has not set a date for the tournament. Still, Dota fans have to be patient to see the best players perform on the highest level again.
