Donald Trump’s Twitch suspension ends

Update: Donald Trump’s account has been unbanned. On July 13 the two-week suspension ended and the channel can be used once more.

In the past the account was mainly used to stream election rallies and speeches of the current President of the United States. Boasting roughly 129,000 followers is the extension of Trump’s reelection campaing on Twitch.

Shortly after being unbanned the account resumed streaming and will most likely see even more use as the election in the USA draws near.

Original News from June 30:
While the internet is still spinning in circles trying to discern what happened to DrDisrespect’s Twitch channel another prominent name has been suspended from the streaming platform. But this time Twitch’s suspension has also made headlines outside the esports industry.

The president of the United States of America had been streaming his speeches on the platform since October 2019. Since Twitch has now suspended his account, that will no longer be possible in the near future.

According to Twitch Donald Trump’s account violated their community guidelines as the rerun of a speech from 2016 was classified as hateful conduct.

The rerun in question showed Trump’s infamous kickoff rally, during which he said that Mexico was sending rapists to the United States. In a statementto Bloomberg Twitch said: “Hateful conduct is not allowed on Twitch. In line with our policies, President Trump’s channel has been issued a temporary suspension from Twitch for comments made on stream, and the offending content has been removed.”
