With some massive upsets, here are the biggest takeaways from Day One of the PGL Major’s Champions Stage.

Ninjas In Pyjamas destroy Device’s old team

Astralis and NiP were bound to meet on the first day. Though this was not Device’s first clash against his old team, Astralis, this is the biggest stage that the two had battled on. NiP absolutely shut down the Danish squad, ending the Bo1 16-1 in favor of the Swedes.

The entire team fought through the technical difficulties, as all NiP members ended with a positive K-D. Hampus led the charge of NiP, heralding an incredible 100% KAST with 120.8 ADR. The amazing showing by NiP certainly bodes well for the squad, now only one win away from qualification.

Who’s going to make the cut first?

Ninjas In Pyjamas, Natus Vincere, G2, and Entropiq are all only one game away from qualification for the playoffs. Tomorrow, G2 and Entropiq will face off. While one of these teams will make the cut, the other will have to wait.

The same case will occur beween Na’Vi and NiP, though both had impressive showings the first of the two will advance on after a single Bo1. Though NiP had a great performance on the day, Na’Vi have proven themselves throughout the entire year.
