Data miner claims to have found unannounced Valve projects

The games were found by Tyler McVicker, who focuses on Valve-related news, by performing a data mine on recently released Aperture Desk Job. Within the code he found four new noteworthy games, which include a possible new Half-Life title named ‘Citadel’, a port of CS:GO to the Source 2 engine, something related to the Portal paint game (that got canceled) and a new new project which is to follow Half-Life: Alyx.

Most of these titles are things that fans have speculated about for quite a while now. Half-Life: Alyx was one of the most popular and acclaimed VR games, while porting CS:GO to the Source 2 engine has been a debate among fans for years, wanting to reinvigorate the game and allowing it to compete against newer titles that have been hitting the market recently.

Arguably the biggest find was the ‘Citadel’ project, an unconfirmed Half-Life project. McVicker goes on to describe the game as an RTS and FPS hybrid, which features multiplayer gameplay alongside a single-player campaign. He also speaks of two systems, one featuring certain abilities (such as weapons, ammo, grenades, …) with the other being ‘bots’ that can be controlled by a player, playing into the RTS aspect.
