DAMWON Gaming defeats G2 Esports in Worlds 2020 semi-final

Today G2 Esports took on DAMWON Gaming in the semi-final of Worlds 2020, a battle that was eventually won by the latter. Things didn’t start out as well for G2 Esports with a quick loss and after picking up a win in the second game, DAMWON Gaming took over in game 3 and 4.

In the first game of the series DAMWON Gaming came out on top after a great performance by their bot laner Jang “Ghost” Yong-jun on Jhin and jungler Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu on Hecarim. G2 Esports was able to pull one back in game 2 however, as mid laner Rasmus “Caps” Borregaard found his groove on his Twisted Fate pick and jungler Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski looked strong on Kindred.

Things would take a turn for the worst for G2 Esports as DAMWON Gaming won game 3 after their bot lane got very much ahead as Mihael “Mikyx” struggled on his Pantheon pick. Game 4 was over in a flash as DAMWON Gaming completely dominated G2 Esports, getting ahead early, finding early kills and closing out the game in under 20 minutes.

DAMWON Gaming moves on to the Grand Final of Worlds 2020 where they face the winner of the semi-final series between Suning and TOP Esports on Sunday, which guarantees a LCK versus LPL Grand Final. The Grand Final will take place on Saturday October 31.
