Activision and Sledgehammer Games have published a new story trailer for Call of Duty: Vanguard. Here are the first insights into characters and missions of the game.

While the multiplayer is the focus for many players, the campaign is also very important to the fans. The new trailer teases a lot of chracters and locations of Vanguard. Activision also posted a blogpost with even more information.
Here are the introduced protagonists:
Sergeant Arthur Kingsley
Kingsley is the leader and heart of Task Force One. Born in Cameroon, he studied in England at Cambridge University and speaks five languages. Fighting to protect his homeland he is steadfast in combat against the Nazis.
Lieutenant Polina Petrova
Polina Petrova is introduced as the best sniper of the Soviet Union, thirsting for revenge. Born in Stalingrad, she did not become a soldier out of her own volition, instead it was necessity.
Private Lucas Riggs
Lucas Riggs is the son of an Australian family of shepherds and an expert in demolition and explosives. His allies know him as a gentle giant, that occassionally runs into issues with authority, but for his opponents he is a brutal soldier.
Lieutenant 1st Class Wade Jackson
Wade Jackson is a decorated pilot, who is always eager to show off his skill. He is described as egocentric and believes to be able to handle everything on his own. The rebellious hothead was part of the cadet program of the navy and mastered handling Stukas there.
Sergeant Richard Webb
Webb is a close friend and the right hand of Kingsley. He only joined the army reluctantly and subsequently does not see any glory in his work. He is cautious and keeps his eyes open for all potential risks.
SS Oberst-Gruppenführer Hermann Wenzel Freisinger
Vanguard’s main antagonist is the Nazi officer Hermann Wenzel Freisinger. He is an interrogation officer of the SS and the architect behind the mysterious project Phoenix. Described as charismatic and ruthless, he allegedly manipulates his victims until they tell him everything.
Locations of Vanguard
The trailer also gave an insight into the locations of the next Call of Duty. Leaker Tom Henderson confirmed, that the scene with the drowning paratrooper is part of the D-Day mission from Kingsley.
