Coach fRoD leaves T1 VALORANT roster

In an announcement he made last night, Daniel “fRoD” Montaner has confirmed he’ll be leaving the VALORANT roster of T1. The American coach joined the team back in May of 2020 and helped shape the roster which features former CS:GO professional player Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham.

On his Twitter page, fRoD gives a little more explanation about his decision to depart the roster and confirms he’s looking for new opportunities within the VALORANT scene. “I’m officially looking for a new team, I’m no longer with T1. Difference of ethics and opinions on how to run the team and organization. I wish the players the best of luck. Those interested in me as a coach in VALORANT hit me up to find out more information, my DM’s are open.”

T1 has struggled to perform at the highest level and hasn’t really won any major tournaments or invitationals within the VALORANT scene. In its most recent change the roster saw Korean player Ha “Spyder” Jung-woo join the roster but still T1 has some difficulties finding their rhythm, often seeing their tournaments end early.

Their most recent matches in a major series date back from December, where they participated in First Strike North America. They’d go on to lose their first series in the quarterfinals against 100 Thieves who would later win it all. It’s currently unclear who T1 is targeting as their new coach.
