Cloud9 release woxic – What’s next for the Colossus?

Cloud9 and Özgur “Woxic” Eker have decided to part ways. The organization announced the news on Twitter. Woxic will become a free agent and can look for a new team, but it’s currently unclear where his future lies. as for Cloud9, they are reportedly still close to signing Erick “Xeppaa” Bach.

General Manager of Cloud9, Henry “HenryG” Greer, took to Twitter and explained the situation in a statement. “It’s no secret that recent months have been especially rough for him (woxic). As a team, we were unable to overcome various challenges that affected his performance that included an unreliable high ping and not to mention a compromising time zone. […] We approached with many solutions to these problems but unfortunately, the logistics of overcoming them were almost insurmountable.” HenryG then thanks woxic for his efforts.

Releasing woxic is an interesting decision on the side of Cloud9, who brought in the Turkish player on a huge 1.36 million dollar contract spanning over three years. Cloud9 is now looking to complete their roster once more as it’s left with four people. According to reports, Cloud9 is close to signing Erick “Xeppaa” Bach who previously played for Chaos before that roster was released. The CS:GO Free Agent scene is currently also filled with talented players, among them Russels “Twistzz” Van Dulken, who recently departed Team Liquid.
