Cloud9 announces Xeppaa

It was up in the air for quite a while, but Cloud9 has now confirmed that Erick “Xeppaa” Back will be joining their CS:GO roster, bringing their total number of players back to five.

Cloud9 was in need of a fifth player following Özgür “woxic” Eker departing the team, and has found their solution in the form of Xeppaa. Cloud9 posted an announcement video to Twitter, where Xeppaa talks about his signing. “I never thought I’d ever join an organization like this. It’s a dream come true.” Xeppaa says. He also talked about what he wanted to achieve with his new team. “My personal goal is to show I can compete on a high level, especially against these top European teams.”

General Manager of Cloud9 Henry “HenryG” Greer shared some more details on the signing on Twitter. Xeppaa signed a contract of 3 years with the deal valued at $423.000, potentially $540.000 with bonuses. HenryG also commented on the signing itself. “He hasn’t had a chance to shine as a true star yet. We’ve given him an opportunity and we know he’ll rise to the occasion.

This signing means Xeppaa will continue to be active within CS:GO after the former Chaos team was released by the organization. His former teammates vanity and leaf decided to pursue a career in VALORANT instead. Xeppaa will get his first chance to shine at the cs_summit 7, which will run from January 25 to January 31.
